What can I expect if I work with you?
Count on me to be straightforward, upfront, and collaborative. I want to know when you have questions or concerns, so we can address them head on.
I balance humor, challenge and support with emphasis on personal autonomy, respect for privacy, and the gravity of what my clients manage every day.
Care is collaborative, reflective, and guided by ongoing clinical assessment, progress towards your individual goals, and clinical outcomes. I value tailoring goals/interventions to your individual needs.
What is the goal of this work?
The goal is aligning the way you work, lead, and live with your values – so your success does not come at the cost of your health, relationships, or integrity.
This is important, because when you thrive – your families, places of employment, and communities benefit.
This work is not about perfection or proving your worth. Using a strength based – growth mindset we focus on alignment and sustainable changes.
Is this short-term or protocol driven therapy?
No. This is depth-oriented and individually tailored to align with your goals, needs, values, and progress.
Frequency, duration, and session length are discussed and adjusted based on your individual needs.
Do you provide Crisis or Forensic services?
No. The following services are not provided:
- Crisis intervention
- Emergency response
- Legal or forensic evaluations
- Disability evaluations
- Emotional Support Animal letters
- Couples or Family Counseling
- Custody evaluations
If these services are needed, appropriate referrals or resources can be provided.
What are your Credentials?
While credentials, knowledge, and skill are important – I believe what truly matters is how I apply the credentials, knowledge and skills.
I received the Health Professionals Scholarship for Professionals (HPSP) from the Air Force and received my doctoral degree from an APA Accredited, private faith based University – George Fox University, Graduate Department of Clinical Psychology.
After completing internship at Wilford Hall Ambulatory Surgical Center, I served as an Active Duty Officer In Charge (OIC) and Staff Psychologist at a Joint Base Military Mental Health Clinic.
In these roles I worked with various service members, including:
- Commanders
- Pilots
- Load masters
- First responders – security forces, K9 handlers, and fire fighters
- Cyber
- Medical providers
- JAG, EO, and Chaplains
- Technicians across various AFSC’s
After leaving service, I took sabbatical to re-adjust, relocate, and obtain various licenses before launching this practice.
As a Clinical Psychologist, I’m currently licensed in Ohio and Virginia, with PsyPact authority to practice interjurisdictional psychology (APIT) across all PsyPact participating states.
I’m also a Star Behavioral Health Provider (SBHP) through the Center for Deployment Psychology (CDP) and Uniformed Services University (USU).
