Is This the Right Kind of Therapy for Me?

Who do you typically work with?

I work with you – a high-achieving professional, leader and public servant know for your competence, integrity, and the ability to perform under pressure.

Despite external success, sometimes you feel chronically exhausted, and disconnected or emotionally distant in your closest relationships. This work is designed to align success with what matters most to you – not simply pushing harder.

Yes. I frequently work as a burnout therapist for high-achieving professionals, particularly when burnout shows up as chronic exhaustion, disrupted sleep, irritability, overfunctioning or values misalignment.

I don’t treat burnout as a productivity problem – it’s understood as a signal that something important has been overridden for far too long. You can read more about telepsychology for high-achievers and professionals on the services page.

That’s often when high-achieving professionals, leaders, and public servants tend to seek therapy. You may still be performing well, despite feeling disconnected, numb, or resentful.

Therapy can help you understand why this is happening, what needs to shift, and how to make lasting, realistic, manageable, and sustainable changes.

How Does This Approach Work?

What is your approach?

My approach is structured, collaborative, and depth-oriented. We slow things down just enough to understand the patterns driving exhaustion, overworking, emotional avoidance, or relational strain.

Rather than offering quick fixes or advice, we work thoughtfully to:

  • Clarify values
  • Improve boundaries and decision-making
  • Support meaningful and lasting change

This work is best suited for people who value focused attention, privacy and a tailored therapeutic process.

A fuller overview of my approach and specialities are available on the home page and service page.

No. While performance may improve as a result of this indepth work – this is not performance coaching, productivity consulting, or mindset training. This distinction is outlined more fully in the Why telepsychology works especially well for high-achieving professionals section of the telepsychology for high-achieving professionals services page.

While many clients continue to excel, therapy here focuses on clarity and values alignment – not doing more or pushing harder.

No. This is depth-oriented therapy, using clinical judgement and practical strategies – not protocol driven care. The goal is sustainable change rather than symptom suppression.

Appointments are typically 45 minutes and occur weekly or bi-weekly, because consistency supports meaningful progress. Sessions may occur less frequently depending on your individual goals and needs. We regularly review and adjust your goals to ensure they remain aligned with your needs.

You’re not locked into a predetermined length of therapy – it’s based on on individual goals, needs, progress, and clinical judgement. You can pause or end therapy at any time.

Fit, Boundaries, and What This Practice Does Not Provide

What is the purpose of the "Is This Right for Me" questionnaire & Consultation?

It helps determine if this aligns with your needs and next steps to schedule a brief phone consultation with me.

The consultation is not therapy. It’s a short conversation to answer questions and confirm whether working together is the right fit. If working together is a good fit, I will send you documents through the client portal and an appointment will be scheduled.

These steps are very important, because a good fit and strong client-provider relationship are linked to better outcomes for you – you deserve that level of clarity and care.

No. This practice does not provide emergency response, crisis stabilization, or on-call services. This work is designed for professionals, leaders, and public servants seeking steady, ongoing therapy – not immediate crisis care.

No. I provide individual therapy for high-achieving professionals, leaders and public servants. If couples or family therapy maybe beneficial I am willing to help you identify a provider that maybe a good fit.

Faith, Values, and Identity

Do you integrate faith or spirituality?

Yes. I integrate your cultural and spiritual values when relevant and desired. Therapy is not prescriptive or agenda driven, but values are treated as an important compass for decision making and alignment.

This work is about alignment – so success does not come at the cost of your health, relationships, or self identity.

When you and other professionals, leaders and pubic servants with integrity thrive – families, organizations, and communities benefit.
